Black Friday

Okay, here I am back at home for a break with all the loot. We really had great luck starting with cologone at Sam's for half price at 5:00 am. I think we might go out a little more later, but all the early bird stuff is done for us. Sorry about the double print. It was showing the picture four times and I got it down to two. I'm too tired to figure out what's wrong.

Oh yeah, is it bad I got stuff for myself too?

Breaking the Rules

I have this strong opinion that Christmas should not be celebrated until after Thanksgiving, but this year, I am having a hard time holding myself to that rule. I just can't wait for the Christmas season to start. So I'm heading up to my mom's for Thanksgiving and I'm going to force myself to not listen to my Christmas CD's on the way up. Just two more days...Until then I'm going to refocus my energy on all the reasons I have to be thankful.

Reason or Season?

Cryptology

It's been a long time since I've given my students a chance to send "secret messages" via matrices. The last time I remeber cryptolgy in my class was the 1999-2000 school year. I had an Algebra II class that was a lot of fun. That year, I let the students make messages and if they did it correctly I would be able to read them. I gave a few extra credit points for it. I still remember one of those messages. It was from Teresa. I think I remember hers because Teresa was killed that same school year, and it was devistating to me and that whole class. So today I'm remembering things about Teresa, like that Texas Straw Hat was her favorite lunch, that she actually cared about how to do things correctly and her great smile.

Breakfast of Champions

No not Wheaties, and amazingly not Halloween candy, but pancakes, eggs and bacon all made at 5:40 in the morning by Krista. Is there any better way to start your day?
